Designer
The fyiReporting Designer is a WYSIWYG program that creates RDL report files. These reports in turn can be used within your applications.
To begin using the designer you should either open up an existing report using the File/Open menu or create a new report using File/New Report. In either case you'll see a screen like
Notice that the report is separated into three different regions: Page Header, Body, and Page Footer. You can click and drag these regions to resize the different areas.
You can select a report item by clicking on it. The status bar and toolbar will update to show you the current selected object and some of its properties. You can use the toolbar to change some of the properties. You can also click with the right mouse button on the report item to see a menu with all the current choices. The right mouse button menu choices are dependant on the type of report item you select. If you click with the right mouse button on an empty part of report you'll get the menu for the report.
To move or size a report item you can either drag it with the mouse or use the keyboard arrow keys to move it. To resize a report item using the keyboard hold the shift key down while hitting the arrow keys.
