Options Dialog
The Options dialog allows you to configure the designer environment.

- Display
- This controls the number of entries in the File/Recent files list.
- Help System URL
- Normally, you don't modify this value. It points the help web site for the designer.
- Show line numbers in RDL text
- Determines whether line numbers will be shown in the RDL text editor. For extremely large reports enabling this option may slow the editor.
- Outline report items in Designer
- When enabled the designer will outline all report items.
- Show tabbed interface
- When enable the designer will include the tabbed interface. When disabled the multiple document interface is used.
- Properties Window
- Controls the positioning and visibility of the properties window. When Auto Hide is enabled the property window is hidden when previewing the report or editting the RDL text.

The designer Toolbar can be configured here.
- > button
- Moves the selected Toolbar operation to the Toolbar layout list. When an item is moved to the Toolbar layout list it is usually removed from the available Toolbar operations list.
- < button
- Removes the selected Toolbar layout item. Most items will then be placed in the Toolbar operations list.
- Up button
- Repositions the selected Toolbar layout item up one position.
- Down button
- Repositions the selected Toolbar layout item down one position.
- Reset button
- Resets the Toolbar layout to the default configuration.

The Desktop Server is a mini HTTP server. It is intended for previewing running
reports in a browser on your local machine.
- Port
- Specify the port number. This must be unique amoung any web servers you having running on your machine. 8080 is a typical value.
- Directory
- Allows you to specify the directory out of which reports should be served.
- Restrict access to local machine
- By default the Desktop server will serve pages only on your machine. Other machines available on your network will not be able to access the server. Warning: If you allow other machines to access these reports there is no security on viewing any of your reports.

Charts with a type of Map have a subtype that specifies a map file. The Map file is an
an XML file that defines the regions of the map. Use the Map Designer
tool to create new map definitions. The list defined here is only for the purposes of
showing map subtypes in the designer. It is not required when running a report containing
a map.
- Add
- Allows you to specify add a new Map subtype to the list.
- Remove
- Removes a Map subtype from the list.
